Hey all, I haven’t seen “Arrival” yet but I did read the short story it’s based on- which I thought was phenomenal. My take away was the story is about non linear time and language. As the protagonist begins to understand the language and think in it, she comes to a state of seeing back and forward in time. So, I’m afraid many will go see this expecting an “invasion flick” and be disappointed. I was afraid of that as I read the story; it’s a brilliant little piece about perception, consciousness, and life. I hope folks will read it.
